NC3 Secures Critical Funding for Facility Improvements and Equipment Upgrades

SUPERIOR, NE – The Nuckolls County Childcare Center (NC3) is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of several grants and community donations dedicated to enhancing its facilities. These funds are being utilized for two primary projects: the installation of a high-efficiency industrial dishwasher and an expansion of the center’s outdoor concrete area.
New Dishwasher Installation
NC3 has recently invested approximately $5,800 in a new, industrial grade dishwasher. This purchase was made possible through a combination of public and private support, including a $2,000 DHHS Emergency Grant. Significant contributions were also received from individual donors and the Vycke Garman Memorial Fund.
Outdoor Concrete Expansion
A second major project, estimated at $12,000, involves expanding the outdoor concrete surface to improve play areas. This initiative is being funded by a $5,000 grant from Aurora Cooperative Elevator Company, which was matched by an additional $5,000 through the CoBank "Sharing Success" matching grant program. NC3 expects to receive the matching funds this coming week.
"We are incredibly grateful for the generous support we’ve received from our local business partners, our NC3 families, and the community," said Holly Wilt, NC3 Director. "These upgrades are more than just maintenance. They are investments in the environment where our children learn and grow every day. I want to personally thank the Aurora Cooperative, CoBank, and the individuals whose donations ensure that NC3 remains a great facility for our families."
To finalize the funding for the concrete project, NC3 will host a free-will donation hamburger meal on Sunday, May 24th from 11am-1pm at Superior City Park during the Victorian Festival weekend celebration. NC3 invites the community to join them for this event to help reach the final fundraising goal for the outdoor expansion.
