SUPERIOR, NE – Brodstone Healthcare recently announced its official participation in the statewide Respectful Care Initiative, a program designed to prioritize the safety, dignity, and patient-centered experience for all perinatal and newborn patients and their families. This commitment underscores Brodstone Healthcare’s dedication to providing the highest quality, most compassionate maternity care in South Central Nebraska.
The decision to formally adopt the initiative is a proactive response to the persistent challenges in Nebraska’s maternal health landscape, which the initiative highlights. Brodstone Healthcare is committed to being part of the solution by reinforcing a culture of respectful and patient-first care.
The Respectful Care Initiative emphasizes the foundational principle that Respectful Care improves health outcomes and experiences for women by ensuring that quality, healthcare systems, and support are respectful of and consider the patient's values, needs, and desires.
"By formally adopting the Respectful Care Initiative, we are sending a clear message to our community: every patient will be treated with the utmost respect, empathy, and dignity. We are committed to an environment where every new or expectant mother feels heard and respected," said Candice Thompson, Chief Nursing Officer at Brodstone Healthcare.
Brodstone Healthcare’s dedicated OB/Labor & Delivery department, which also offers prenatal healthcare and childbirth education, is fully aligned with the initiative's goals. This commitment builds upon existing programs, such as the Postpartum Alert Program, and signifies the hospital’s focus on maternal and infant safety.
