The decision to formally adopt the initiative is a proactive response to the persistent challenges in Nebraska’s maternal health landscape, which the initiative highlights. The Respectful Care Initiative emphasizes the foundational principle that Respectful Care improves health outcomes and experiences for women by ensuring that quality, healthcare systems, and support are respectful of and consider the patient's values, needs, and desires.
