Brodstone Healthcare Breaks Ground on Project SCOPE: Supporting Community Opportunities & Planned Expansion

SUPERIOR, Neb. — Brodstone Healthcare is proud to announce the groundbreaking of Project SCOPE (Supporting Community Opportunities & Planned Expansion), an initiative designed to strengthen workforce recruitment, support growth, and create new opportunities for the future of the communities served by Brodstone.
The initiatives’ first project will transform seven long-vacant residential lots on Sunrise Street in the northeast portion of Superior into six new owner-occupied single-family homes, bringing several new families, new investment, and long-term economic benefits to the community.
The property, originally platted in 2003, has remained undeveloped for more than two decades. Through Project SCOPE, Brodstone Healthcare is taking an active role in addressing one of the most significant barriers to rural growth: housing availability. Building on the momentum and success of the City of Superior's various housing programs, this initiative expands access to housing while encouraging future development and investment throughout the community.
"To continue growing healthcare services and attracting talented professionals to our community, we must have housing available for them and their families," said Treg Vyzourek, Brodstone Healthcare CEO. "Project SCOPE is about more than building homes. It's about investing in the future of our communities and creating momentum for continued growth."
Construction of the homes will immediately generate economic activity throughout the region. Local suppliers, contractors, and service providers will benefit from the purchase of materials, labor, concrete, utilities, and other construction-related services. Beyond the construction phase, the project is expected to bring at least four new families to the Superior community, increasing local spending, supporting area businesses, and contributing to long-term community vitality.
Unlike many housing developments that require significant infrastructure investments, Project SCOPE benefits from existing roads and utilities already in place. This "infill" development approach allows resources to be focused directly on creating new housing opportunities while making the project more financially feasible.
Brodstone’s Project SCOPE will demonstrate that housing development is possible in rural communities and inspire additional investment in Superior’s future. "We see this project as an opportunity to help meet a community need while demonstrating the potential for future growth," said Derek Clark, Senior Director of Plant Operations and Project SCOPE Project Manager at Brodstone Healthcare. "Our hope is that it encourages continued investment and development that will benefit Superior for generations to come."
Project SCOPE represents Brodstone Healthcare's commitment to not only delivering exceptional healthcare, but also investing in the infrastructure and opportunities that help rural communities thrive well into the future. The housing development marks the first initiative under the Project SCOPE umbrella, serving as a foundation for future projects that support workforce growth, community development, and expanded opportunities throughout the region. Through Project SCOPE, Brodstone Healthcare is creating a framework for strategic investments that strengthen the communities it serves.
