SUPERIOR, NE – Brodstone Community Wellness proudly welcomed more than 100 attendees to its first-ever Growing Together: Agriculture Appreciation Night, a special community event created to honor the farmers, ranchers, and agricultural professionals whose dedication helps strengthen and sustain local communities.
Held August 14 at the Superior Auditorium, the evening brought together members of the agricultural community, local supporters, and area residents for an opportunity to connect, share a meal, and celebrate the vital role agriculture plays in the region.
"We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support shown for our first Agriculture Appreciation Night," said Jacki Siebecker, Wellness Director at Brodstone Healthcare. "The success of this event reflects just how important our agricultural community is and how much appreciation exists for the individuals and families who work tirelessly to feed, fuel, and support our communities."
The evening featured a social hour, a complimentary catered meal, opportunities to connect with agricultural experts, and a door prize giveaway. Guests enjoyed steak sandwiches provided by the South Central Cattlemen Association, along with sides and dessert from Superior Eats.
A highlight of the event was the keynote presentation by Will Stutterheim, MS, LPC, an instructor at Fort Hays State University with more than 20 years of experience in mental health. Stutterheim shared valuable insights on mental health, stress management, and resilience within the agricultural industry, addressing the unique challenges faced by farmers, ranchers, and agricultural families. Drawing on both professional experience and a personal background on a Kansas farm, Stutterheim delivered an engaging and meaningful message that resonated with attendees.
"The topic of mental health in agriculture is an important one," said Jacki Siebecker. "Will's presentation encouraged meaningful conversations and highlighted the importance of building resilience and supporting one another through the challenges that come with agricultural life."
As Brodstone Community Wellness continues its mission of supporting the health and well-being of the communities it serves, organizers hope this inaugural event will become a valued tradition that recognizes and celebrates the contributions of the agricultural industry.
