Area Students Receive Healthcare Scholarships

Superior, NE – The Brodstone Healthcare Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the 2026 healthcare scholarships. These awards recognize academic excellence, a passion for healthcare, and a steadfast commitment to the future of medical services in Nuckolls County.

Eight dedicated students were awarded the 2026 Evelene Brodstone Healthcare Career Grant. These recipients represent the next generation of healthcare professionals and leaders who aim to serve the local community. The honorees include Colten Butler, Dayne Clark, Tanner Theis, Mason Korb, Molley Drohman, Faith Butler, Haley Kussman, and Mikynzie Hansen.

This year marks the seventh anniversary of the Virginia Lewis Legacy Scholarship. The scholarship honors the memory of Virginia Lewis, who dedicated 46 years to Brodstone in various roles. Established in 2020 by her family, the fund continues to support those pursuing careers in nursing and healthcare. This year’s recipients are Mallory Kleen, Faith Butler, and Khloe Mundorf.

The sixth annual Sandra Bothwell and Lori Renz Legacy Scholarship was granted to Addison Eitzmann. Formerly known as the Sandra Bothwell Legacy Scholarship, the award was renamed this year to also honor the memory of Sandra’s daughter, Lori Renz, who passed away in 2025. Lori, along with her sister Shelly Jung and father Lawrence “Lefty,” originally established the fund in 2021 to celebrate Sandra’s 47-year legacy in nursing and social work. The scholarship now stands as a dual tribute to the lives and contributions of both Sandra and Lori.

The Brodstone Healthcare Foundation, a non-profit organization, welcomes financial contributions to enhance programs and services at Brodstone Healthcare. The scholarship fund offers donors an opportunity to invest in the future healthcare workforce of Nuckolls County.
