Brodstone Healthcare offers a variety of services and programs to the community. These services include but are not limited to Immunization Clinic, Car Seat Inspections, Childbirth and Sibling Classes, Diabetes and Ostomy Support Groups, and the Good Beginnings program. Also, a great asset to the community and the hospital is the availability of specialty physicians. More than 20 specialists visit Brodstone Healthcare at least monthly for the convenience of our patients.

Immunization Clinic

The Immunization Clinic is held the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Specialty Clinic at the hospital. Use the north entrance and proceed to the Specialty Clinic from the north lobby. No need to check in at admissions. Please call 402-879-4432, ext 5290 for an appointment. A donation of $5.00 per child, per visit is requested. Immunization are for newborns to 18 year old children.

Car Seat Fitting

Car seat fitting stations are held the 2nd Thursday of every month at the Superior Fire Station, 154 West 5th, from 4 to 6 pm. To make an appointment, please call 402-879-4432, ext #5101 or 402-879-3281.

Sibling Classes

Sibling classes are held periodically as needed. Please call 402-879-3281 for a schedule and to sign up for a class.

Tobacco Cessation

The Tobacco Cessation Program, developed by the American Lung Association, works with dependence on smoking, chewing tobacco and vapor devices. It is a 7 week program and there is no charge for the classes. Please call 402-879-4432, ext. #5170 for a schedule and to sign up for the program.

CPR Classes

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) classes are taught by American Heart Association certified instructors. Classes include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Heartsaver CPR with a first aid option. Heartsaver courses are especially beneficial to day care providers, family members of a heart patient, school personnel or anyone interested in learning how to save a life. Class fees may apply. Childbirth Prep

Childbirth preparation classes are held at Brodstone Healthcare. For a schedule or to sign up for a class, please call Brodstone Family Medical Center – Superior at 402-879-4781, or 402-879-4432, ext #5273 to leave a message for the OB Director.

Breastfeeding

Breast Feeding Support - Please call 402-879-4432, ext #5273, and leave a message for the OB Director. If you need immediate assistance, please call 402-879-3281.

Diabetes Support Group

The Brodstone Diabetes Management Center is designed to teach our patients how to manage their diabetes so they can live a normal and healthy life. Our diabetic education personnel are trained to provide one-on-one and group teaching/counseling to meet the individual needs of our patients. This also includes an individual session with our Registered Dietician.

Good Beginnings

The main emphasis of the Good Beginnings program is to educate mothers and families on proper care for their newborns. Nurses visit new families and provide education to parents on their child’s growth and development. The goal is to work with families and help to create a healthy and nurturing home atmosphere soon after the mother and child return home.

Good Beginnings helps make families stronger, healthier and safer by:

  • Assisting families in identifying their strengths, needs, and goals, in order to facilitate families becoming healthier, happier, and stronger.
  • Helping monitor and care for women with high-risk pregnancies.
  • Working with expectant parents and family to assist in the preparation for the delivery and the newborn’s homecoming.
  • Helping mother with breastfeeding.
  • Providing professional child safety seat checks & assisting in making homes safer.

Good Beginnings provides free home visits by health care professional

There are no income guidelines, it is non-discriminatory and voluntary. The program is available to any pregnant woman or parent & family with children to age five and to families living in Nuckolls County, or who have received medical care at a Brodstone Family Medical Center.

Good Beginnings

  • Helps promote positive parenting skills
  • Proactive in creating a nurturing home and managing stressful situations
  • Empowers parents to promote their child’s health, growth, and development
  • Supports assessment & helps care for children with special needs
  • Assists families in accessing other community services to enhance their health, happiness, and strength as a family unit.

Participants in Good Beginnings may earn Diaper Dough or Book Bucks.
